HOLDEN BOARD OF SELECTMEN
INTERVIEW MEETING MINUTES
FEBRUARY 7, 2011

6:18PM                                                                          Memorial Hall

Chairman White opened the meeting at 6:180PM.  The Board participated in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Selectmen Licenses & Appointments

The Board interviewed Lance Lazar for reappointment to the Historic District Commission.  Mr. Lazar said has served on the Commission for three years in the spirit of community and civic service.  He said he would like to install historic signs within the District to make the properties distinct from the other areas in Holden Center.  He said it is important to be creative and open minded when serving on the Committee.

Motion by Sel. Renzoni, seconded by Sel. Ferguson, it was VOTED 4-0 TO REAPPOINT MR. LANCE LAZAR TO THE HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION TO A THREE-YEAR TERM.

The Board interviewed Susan Kowalczyk for reappointment to the Historic District Commission.  Ms. Kowalczyk said she has a continued interest in finding balance between the old and the new.  She said one of the challenges to the Commission was in appointing new members to keep the Commission functioning.   She said she was proud the Commission was able to take part in the recent work on the historic town office buildings.

Motion by Sel. Lavigne, seconded by Sel. Ferguson, it was VOTED 4-0 TO REAPPOINT MS. SUSAN KOWALCZYK TO THE HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION TO A THREE-YEAR TERM.

The Board interviewed Daniel Gately for reappointment as a constable in the Town.  Mr. Gately said he had served as a constable in town for three years.  He has worked as a constable for fifteen years.

Motion by Sel. Lavigne, seconded by Sel. Renzoni, it was VOTED 4-0 TO REAPPOINT MR. DANIEL GATELY AS A CONSTABLE FOR THE TOWN OF HOLDEN TO A THREE-YEAR TERM.

The Manager informed the Board that she had reappointed Mr. Chuck Skillings to the Historical Commission.  This Commission is by Manager appointment only.

Motion by Sel. Renzoni, seconded by Sel. Lavigne, it was VOTED 4-0 TO CONFIRM THE TOWN MANAGER’S REAPPOINTMENT OF CHARLES SKILLINGS TO THE HOLDEN HISTORICAL COMMISSION FOR A THREE YEAR TERM.

Recess to Regular Meeting

The Board recessed to the regular meeting at 6:31PM.
